Impact of dietary phosphorus on turbot bone mineral density and content

چکیده
Fish are largely dependent on dietary phosphorus for skeletal development and mineralization. In aquaculture, commercial diets commonly have higher concentration than the basal requirements in most fish species to ensure growth prevent bone mineral disorders. Excessive feeds is harmful metabolism results an increase of wastes farm effluents, which impact aquatic ecosystems. Previous studies shown that depletion/excess cause malformations reduced/enhanced mineralization fish. There scarce information optimal with different types (cellular vs. acellular bone), particularly relevant sustainable aquaculture. Thus, aim our study was analyse effect concentrations turbot, a demersal acellular-boned valuable aquaculture species. Our show did not changes density phosphate/calcium concentrations. No apparent were detected. Additionally, we find altered expression genes involved metabolism. Taken together, data optimum turbot below those currently used commercially at least time period examined: 55–195 days postfertilization (dpf).

Bone Mineral Content and Density.
The availability of high-throughput biochemical and imaging techniques that can be used on live mice has increased the possibility of undertaking longitudinal studies to characterize skeletal changes such as bone mineral content and density. Further characterization of bone morphology, bone quality, and bone strength can also be achieved by analyzing dissected bones using techniques that provid...
متن کاملImproved prediction of bone mineral content and density.
To establish improved predictive values for normal bone mineral content (BMC) and density (BMD) in adolescent girls a community based study of schoolgirl volunteers was carried out by dual energy x ray absorptimetry. Measurements were performed on 216 subjects aged 11.0 to 17.9 years; measurements were repeated one year later on 84 of the girls, providing a total of 300 studies. For total body ...
متن کاملRelation of bone mineral density and content to mineral content and density of the fat-free mass.
Differences in the mineral fraction of the fat-free mass (M(FFM)) and in the density of the FFM (D(FFM)) are often inferred from measures of bone mineral content (BMC) or bone mineral density (BMD). We studied the relation of BMC and BMD to the M(FFM) and D(FFM) in a heterogeneous sample of 216 young men (n = 115) and women (n = 101), which included whites (n = 155) and blacks (n = 61) and coll...
متن کاملDietary calcium, sex hormones, and bone mineral density in men.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the factors that determine bone mineral density at axial and appendicular sites in normal men. DESIGN Measurement of bone mineral density of the radius by single photon absorptiometry and of the lumbar spine and hip by dual photon absorptiometry to assess their relation with various determinants of bone mineral density. Dietary calcium was assessed from a questionnaire v...
متن کاملRelationship of Weight and Body Mass Index with Femur and Lumbar Vertebrae Bone Mineral Density and Content in Premenopausal Women
Purpose: Given that weight and body mass index (BMI) are considered as modifiable factors in osteoporosis, the present study aimed to examine the relationship of weight and BMI with bone mineral density (BMD) and bone mineral content (BMC) at the femur and lumbar vertebrae in perimenopausal women. Methods: In this descriptive-correlational study, we measured the bone density of the femur and...
